Akira Ohiso is a writer/artist who won the Silverstein-Peiser Non-Fiction Writing Award. He completed his first work, Embalmed, in 2002. He received his Masters of Social Work Degree which has inspired much of his recent writing. He is active in the blogosphere where his blog, Sushi Kiddush, was nominated by The Jerusalem Post for Best New Jewish Blog of 2005. Sushi Kiddush was syndicated by Mensnewsdaily.com.
 
Ellie Ohiso is a graphic designer/artist and is Creative Director of Ideas, Inc., a marketing and consulting agency. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Queens College with a degree in studio art. She is currently completing her Masters Degree at New York University's Gallatin School of Independent Studies. She won the 2006 Newington Cropsey Foundation Fellowship Award.
